Both cities were once the pre-eminent cities of Scotland and both enjoy superb locations. Perth, known as the 'fair city' has an air of elegant prosperity which is enhanced by the beautiful Tay river gleaming and twisting round the edge of the town. Stirling has many fine buildings and its castle remains the finest example of Renaissance architecture in Scotland.
