Northampton

Shakespear´s Birthplace - Stratford-Upon-Avon - Click to expand This spacious town is very conveniently placed within reach of many of England's major tourist attractions. London is also on a direct route from Dover and therefore can be visited on both the first and last days of a visit.

The two great medieval seats for learning, Oxford and Cambridge lie nearby as well as Shakespeare's birthplace at Stratford-on-Avon and the magnificent medieval castle of Warwick.

Immensely popular with school groups is the Cadbury's chocolate factory and Alton Towers, the most exciting, nail biting, adventurous funfair in Britain. The Black Country Museum at Dudley is a living tribute to Industrial Britain. Faithfully restored homes are brought to life by local characters dressed in period costumes and the pub, factory and chapel cluster together in the village.

Two excellent local organisers also offer lessons and a wide range of sporting activities - canoeing, tennis, golfing, riding and swimming. Bagpipe, clog and folk dancing can also be arranged on request, and maybe tea with the town mayor.
